With all the effort your teams put into preparing for their season shouldn’t we make sure that they have the advantage of a well lit field?  Often the field lighting is the last item on the checklist of things to do in preparation for the start of a winning season.  Atkins & Stang, Inc. has all the tools and experience required to assist you in putting your field lighting into excellent shape. 

Atkins & Stang, Inc. can perform a complete check of your lighting system and execute the required improvements at your direction.  At times all you will need to do is replace burned out lamps to bring light levels back up to the anticipated standards.  At other times more effort may be required. 

Football, Baseball, Soccer, and Tennis all have specified footcandle levels and light aiming patterns that are designed to keep the field uniformly illuminated.  Light levels on the field, players and the ball are all critical.  Improper light levels, glare or a background with low contrast may cause the ball to be momentarily lost when it should remain easily visible during critical plays.

To ensure that your lighting is at optimum levels it may be necessary to clean the fixture lenses and reflectors.  It may also be necessary to do a uniform replacement of all the lamps.  Lamps often continue to burn past their rated useful life with light output levels dropping well below the expected norm.  A light meter reading can be taken to reveal how well your fixtures are performing and holding up over time.  Atkins & Stang, Inc. will also perform a check on the overall integrity of the electrical wiring for the installation.  Damaged conduits, exposed wires, loose connections or poor grounding may lead to a hazardous condition for both players and spectators.  Atkins & Stang, Inc. can help you identify these problems and make the necessary repairs.
